Concrete pump selection starts with the placement requirement, not simply the largest machine available.
Define the application
Identify the structure, pour type, estimated volume, placement area and expected sequence. A foundation pour, high-rise slab, infrastructure element and industrial placement can require different equipment, pipeline and coordination.
Measure height and distance
Record the vertical pumping height, horizontal distance and likely pipeline route. Note bends, reducers, flexible hoses and any sections where the line must change direction. These details influence pressure demand and installation planning.
Consider output and concrete mix
The target hourly output should be realistic for concrete supply, placement labour and site conditions. Concrete grade, aggregate, slump and mix characteristics can affect pumpability. The contractor, concrete supplier and pumping team should coordinate the applicable project information.
Check access and mobilisation
Confirm how the pump reaches and sits at the site, where concrete trucks queue, how the line is installed and how cleaning is managed. Restricted access, traffic control, working-hour limits and lifting requirements should be identified before mobilisation.
Compare confirmed specifications
Use manufacturer data for the exact model and configuration. Compare theoretical output, pressure, power, cylinder data, dimensions and weight where available, but treat them as part of the full assessment. Do not replace site-specific review with a generic ranking.
